Mountain View-based Google said Friday that it has decided to shut down one of its local development centers, located in Phoenix, Arizona. According to Google, it is shutting down its Phoenix offices as of November 21st, saying that the projects that its engineers there have been working on were highly fragmented. The center--which were opened in 2006, in hopes of tapping the talent in the area--was originally targeted at supporting Google's internal engineering projects.
