blinkx Drops MIVA Bid
San Francisco-based blinkx said today that it has withdrawn its proposal to acquire MIVA, a maker of e-commerce software. According to blinkx, it has withdrawn its offer for the firm, because MIVA's board and management did not "embrace" the proposal. blinkx made a hostile bid in early August, offering to pay $40M for MIVA, or $1.20 per share in cash for the firm.
