AMD Digital TV Sale Completes
AMD's sale of its digital TV business to Broadcom has completed, but at a lower price, said buyer Broadcom Tuesday. According to Broadcom, it has paid $141.5M for AMD's Digital TV Business, which makes processors for the digital television market. The price is a drop from an originally announced $192.8M in August. Broadcom said the decrease ni price was due to a decreased amount of fourth quarter revenue, down to between $15M and $20M. AMD announced the sale of its digital TV business in August, saying that the move would help the company become "leaner and more focused while seeking to create a business model to deliver sustainable profitability." Around 530 employees of AMD also went to Broadcom in the sale.
