Conference Business Hit By Economy: NetApp Cancels Conference
The conference business showing its first sign of being hit by the economic slowdown, as data storage firm NetApp said this morning that it is cancelling its upcoming NetApp Accelerate user conference in February. NetApp blamed the cancellation specifically on increasing restrictions on corporate travel. NetApp said that it had interest from customers in the conference, but their customers have been telling the firm that their travel budgets were being cut. NetApp is a major provider of network attached storage systems to the corporate market.
