Sonic Solutions Acquires CinemaNow
Novato-based Sonic Solutions announced late Wednesday that it has acquired CinemaNow, an operator of Internet video-on-demand services. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. CinemaNow operates a service which offers Hollywood movies, television shows, and music videos for purchase or rental via the Internet. Sonic Solutions said ti would combined CinemaNow with the firm's Qflix team, to create a new Premium Content Group. The new group will be headed by Mark Ely, SVP of Strategy at Sonic.
