Synopsys Buys CHIPit
Mountain View-based Synopsys said earlier this week that it has signed definitive agreement to acquire the CHIPit business unit of ProDesign, a developer of ASIC and systems-on-a-chip verification systems. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. ProDesign is headquartered in Bruckmuhl, Germany, and its CHIPit business unit develops software used for ASIC prototyping and verification. According to Synopsys, the buy gives it complementary talent, technology, and products.
