Milpitas-based Intersil said Thursday that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Zilker Labs, a developer of semiconductors for the mixed-signal power conversion market. Inersil did not disclose financial terms of the buy, however, said the acquisition will add approximately $1.5M in additional operating expenses per quarter. Zilker Labs develops ICs used for electronics power conversion and regulation. Intersil said that the acquisition is its third over the past five months, and is part of a move to broaden its product portfolio and improve its market position.
