Ask Buys Sendori
Oakland-based Ask Sponsored Listings said today that it has acquired Sendori, which provides "direct navigation search" services--selling domain name services which send additional internet traffic to web sites. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. According to Ask, the buy will provide it with "millions" of unique users who use Sendori's web sites. Sendori will become a wholly ownes subsidiary of IAC, which is the parent firm of Ask Sponsored Listings. Sendori's services were sold to web sites, who purchased the use of generic domain names to redirect users to their own sites. Sendori's services are an alternative to the widespread use of parked domains by domainers to reap advertising revenues. Sendori was venture backed by Baseline Ventures, Felices Ventures, First Round Capital, Maples Investments.
