Menlo Park-based venture capital firm
Redpoint Ventures announced Tuesday that the firm has hired on Zimbra founder Satish Dharmaraj, and energy expert Dr. Nety Krishna to the firm. According to Redpoint, Dharmaraj--who was CEO and founder of Zimbra--joins the firm as Partner, and will focus on investments in software and technology infrastructure. The firm also said Dr. Nety Krishna joins the company as Venture Partner and CTO, to focus on the energy sector. Krishna joins from Applied Materials. Dharmaraj was also on the founding team of OneBox before he started Zimbra, which he sold to Yahoo; he has also served at Sun MicroSystems, IBM, and Transarc Corporation. Before Applied Materials, Krishna was a researcher in high energy physics at the University of Colorado and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center.
