Sling Media, which is now owned by EchoStar, said Wednesday that it has added a new iPhone application which uses Wi-Fi hot spots to connect to its Slingbox hardware. Sling Media said its new SlingPlayer Mobile application, now on the iPhoen App store, runs on the iPhone or iPod touch, and allows users to chance channels, control their DVR, or watch shows on the iPhone or iPod. The new app costs $29.99.
