Ausra Names President, COO
Mountain View-based Ausra, a developer of concentrating solar power systems, announced today that it has named Dr. Thomas Caufield as its President and Chief Operating Officer. Caufield was most recently at Novellus Systems, where he was EVP of Sales. he also served at IBM and Phillips Laboratory. Ausra said the appointment came after an "extensive" nationwide search for senior executives. Ausra is venture backed by Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, KERN Partners, Generation Investment Management, and Starfish Ventures.
