Ooma Adds Google Voice Mail, Sound Quality Enhancements
Palo Alto-based voice-over-IP phone firm Ooma said this morning that it has rolled out a number of improvements through what it calls the Ooma PureVoice technology. According to the firm, it has added a new, advanced voice compression capability to improve voice-over-IP quality; new, quality-of-service functionality; redundancy features; and encrypted calls through the firm's products. The company also said it has linked into Google's Voice Extensions
to add in call presentation, caller ID, and access to Google Voice voicemail, as well as added a transcription option for voicemail messages to its services.
