Thumbtack Pins Down $1.2M
San Francisco-based Thumbtack.com, the local services marketplace firm run by Marco Zappacosta, said this week that it has raised $1.2M in funding. The funding came from angel investors Scott & Cyan Banister (PayPal & Zivity), Joshua Schachter (Delicious), Jason Calacanis (WebBlogs & Mahalo), Mark Britto (Amazon), Scott Faber (Ingenio), Mark Goines (Intuit & Mint), Auren Hoffman (RapLeaf), Ariel Poler (l/PRO & Topica), Ali & Hadi Partovi (LinkExchange, Tellme Networks & iLike), Vance Bjorn (DigitalPersona), Denis Grosz (wiseGEEK), and Yan-David Elrich (ChoiceVendor). The firm said the funding will go to expand its team, add email marketing and appointment management features to its product, as well as expand its "Personal Concierge" service.
