Thumbtack Pins $4.5M Round

, which operates a service to help connect consumers with local professionals, announced today that it has raised $4.5M in a Series A funding round. The round was led by Javelin Venture partners, along with MHS Capital and Tim Draper. As part of the funding, Jed Katz of Javelin joins the company's board. Thumbtack said the funding will go towards growing its team, from the eight employees it currently has.
