Cisco Completes ExtendMedia Buy
San Jose-based Cisco said today that it has completed its acquisition of ExtendMedia, a developer of video content management tools. Financial terms of the acquisition have not been announced. ExtendMedia was based in Newton, Mass, with employees in Toronto, Canada. Cisco said that ExtendMedia will become part of Cisco's Service Provider Technology Group, with sales and professionals teams becomes part of Cisco Sales and Advanced Services organizations. ExtendMedia's tools are used to manage IP-based video content, including video advertising. The acquisition had originally been announced last month.
