Mountain View-based Omnicell, a provider of automation and medication management products for the pharmacy and healthcare industry, said today that it has acquired Pandora Data Systems, a developer of analytical software used for regulatory compliance and monitoring medication usage. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Pnandora's software is used to meet regulatory requirements of the DEA and The Joint Commission, related to drug storage and diversion detection. Omnicell said that Pandora's system is currently installed in over 800 hospitals nationwide.
