Federated Media Buys BigTent
San Francisco-based Federated Media said this morning that it has acquired BigTent, also based in San Francisco, a firm which operates community web sites for parent and other groups. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Federated Media said the buy would give its marketers a new way to reach consumers online. The company said it would continue to offer up BigTent's groups to users. BigTent was backed by Mohr, Davidow Ventures and Menlo Ventures, and was founded by Laney Whitcanack.
