Heroku Acquired By Salesforce.com
San Francisco-based Salesforce.com said today that it has agreed to acquire San Francisco-based Heroku, a developer of a Ruby on Rails cloud platform. Salesforce.com said it will pay approximately $212M in cash for Heroku. Heroku's platform allows users to develop and deploy web applications in the cloud. The firm was venture backed by Baseline Ventures, Harrison Metal Capital, Ignition Partners, and Redpoint Ventures. Those firms invested a total of $13M in the firm.
