Pocket Gems Finds $5M For Mobile Social Games

, a developer of mobile social games, said this week that it has raised $5M in a financing round. According to the firm, the round was led by Sequoia Capital, and also included Michael Dearing (eBay), Jeff Fluhr (StubHub), and Omar Hamoui (AdMob). Pocket Gems is the firm behind Tap Farm for the iPhone. The firm was founded by Daniel Terry and Harlan Crystal while Terry was an MBA student at Stanford. As part of the funding, Sequoia's Jim Goetz joins the firm's board of directors.
