Aquantia, a developer of 10GBASE-T PHY semiconductors, said this morning that it has raised $21M in a Series E funding round. The firm said the funding will go towards scaling its operations. The funding came from LSI Corporation, New Enterprise Associates, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Pinnacle Ventures and Venture Tech Alliance. LSI is a new, strategic investor. The funding for Aquantia comes shortly after one of its competitors, Solarflare, dropped out of the market, selling its 10GBASE-T PHY IP and refocusing on the system level NIC market.
