San Rafael-based 3D CAD software firm

said this morning that it has acquired
Instructables
, the San Francisco-based online community focused on do-it-yourself projects. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Autodesk said it would link Instructables to its software tools and services, including SketchBook, 123D and Homestyler. Instructables was backed by O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures.
