Couchbase, the developer of database tools used for building scalable web and mobile applications, said earlier this week that it raised $14M in a Series C funding round. The round was led by Ignition Partners, and also included Accel Partners, Mayfield Fund, and North Bridge Venture Partners. The firm said it also has reserved an additional $1M for investment from strategic customers and partners. Couchbase develops NoSQL tools, based on Apache CouchDB, Membase, and Memcached open source software. The company said the funding will go toward product development, international expansion, and support for growth efforts in enterprise organizations.
