DNAnexus Unlocks $15M
Mountain View-based DNAnexus, a developer of DNA sequencing, analysis, and visualization software, said today that it has raised $15M in a new round of funding. The round included new investors Google Ventures and TPG Biotech, and also included prior investors First Round Capital, SoftTech VC, K9 Ventures, and Felicis VC. The firm said that it will be using the funds to move its headquarters to Mountain View, and to grow the company"substantially". DNAnexus is led by Andreas Sundquist, and has strong links to Stanford University. The firm is leveraging the parallel processing capabilities of Amazon's AWS to run its genetic sequencing tools.
