Apture Acquired By Google
San Mateo-based Apture, which develops browser software to helps users view multimedia content on publisher web pages, has been acquired by Google, Apture said Thursday morning. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Apture had been backed by Clearstone Venture Partners, Beau Vrolyk, Paul Maritz, and Steve Taylor. The firm was co-founded by Tristan Harris and Can Sar.
