Cotendo, a provider of web acceleration technology, has been acquired by content delivery network operator
Akamai, the two firms said this morning. The deal is worth $268M in cash. Cotendo's software helps accelerate both web and mobile applications, including dynamic web applications, DNS, SSL, and other services. Contendo was venture backed by Benchmark Capital, Citrix, Juniper Networks, Sequoia Capital, and Tenaya Capital.
