PacketZoom Downloads $4.3M To Accelerate Mobile Content Delivery
San Mateo-based PacketZoom, a developer of technology which accelerates the delivery of content to mobile devices, has raised $4.3M in a funding round, the company said on Tuesday. The funding was led by First Round Capital, and also included Baseline Ventures, Founders Collective, and Tandem Capital. In announcing the new funding round, PacketZoom also said it has named former Akamai executive Shlomi Gian as its CEO. Gian was head of Akamai's Emerging Mobile Business Unit and served as the Head of Mobile Market Development, and previously had served at Cotendo, Keynote Systems, and DeviceAnywhere.
