Apigee said today that it has acquired San Francisco-based
Usergrid, a developer of cloud-based software used for providing services to mobile apps. Financial terms of the deal were not announced. Apigee, which provides application programming interfaces (APIs) for a variety of services, said the acquisition will add a core set of APIs for mobile applications to its suite of software. Apigee is backed by Norwest Venture Partners, Bay Partners, SAP Ventures, Juniper Networks, Third Point, and Net One Systems.
