nPalo Alto-based
ClearStory Data, a developer of big data visualization tools, said yesterday that it has scored a funding round from
Google Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz,
Khosla Ventures, and angels. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. ClearStory, which is headed by Sharmila Shahani-Mulligan, said it is looking to make it easier for users to conduct self-drive, big data exploration. The firm is addressing the difficulty and skills currently needed to tap big data stores for information. Angels in the round include
Andy Rachleff (Benchmark, Wealthfront), Anand Rajaraman and Venky Harinarayan (
Walmart, Junglee,
Kosmix ),
Tim Howes (
RockMelt, Netscape), and
Nitin Donde (EMC, 3Par, Aster Data).
