DataSift, a developer of social data analytics software, has raised $7.2M in a Series A follow on investment, the firm said today. The round came from GRP Ventures and IA Ventures. As part of the funding, the UK-based company said it has set up an office and headquarters in San Francisco. DataSift applies its technology to analyze social interactions on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, online forums, and elsewhere to help companies track trends, social influence, topics, and other information on those social data streams.
