San Francisco-based
Pathbrite said today that it has raised $2.5M in a Series A funding, for the firm's platform to help students showcase their learning and personal achievements. The funding came from
Rethink Education, as well as from standardized testing company ACT. Pathbrite said the new funding will go towards product development and user acquisition. Pathbrite develops a platform which lets students share their transcripts, report cards, and other credentials with potential colleges or employers. Pathbrite is also backed by angels, including
Ben Cohen, Founder of Ben & Jerry's; Golden Seeds Angel Fund, Silicon Valley;
Joshua Mailman, Serious Change, Jalia Ventures;
Karen Riley, SVP, Global Services, Siebel Systems, IBM;
David Rose,
Rose Tech Ventures, Silicon Alley Angels; and
Steve Schoettler, Co-Founder of Zynga.
