Advanced Cell Diagnostics Gains $12M
Hayward-based Advanced Cell Diagnostics said this morning that it has raised $12M in a Series B funding round. The firm, which is developing automated tools for detecting and quantifying RNA biomarkers, said the round was led by New Leaf Venture Partners, and also included Morningside Ventures. The firm said the fund will go towards commercial expansion of its products, and for entry into the clinical diagnostics market. ACD is led by Dr. Yuling Luo. The company has now raised $17.4M in funding; the company's Series A came in 2009.
