Kleiner Funds HX Diagnostics
Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers has quietly funded HX Diagnostics, an Emeryville firm developing diagnostic technology for analyzing influenza. No details of the funding have been released, however the investment came sometime in 2006 from the Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Pandemic and Biodefense Fund. HX Diagnostics is focused on detecting seasonal and pandemic flu, and is partnered with Nanogen to bring products to market using its technology.
