Concurrent, which is developing enterprise, "big data" software for simplifying big data application development, announced it has raised $4M in a Series A funding. The round came from True Ventures and Rembrandt Venture Partners. Concurrent develops Cascading, an application framework used to build Big Data applications on Hadoop. The firm said the funding will go towards product development, and its core team. As part of the funding, Gary Nakamura, former SVP and GM of Terracotta, has been appointed CEO. The firm has now raised $4.9M in funding, including an earlier seed funding.
