Gainsight Gets $9M For Applying Big Data To Sales
Mountain View-based Gainsight, a developer of software which uses Big Data techniques to analyze sales data and usage, announced this morning that it has raised $9M in a funding round. The round was led by Battery Ventures. Along with the funding, the firm said it has named Nick Mehta, former CEo of LiveOffice (Sold to Symantec) as its new CEO. Founder Jim Eberlin becomes PResident. Gainsight uses big data analyis to help manage retention, reduce unexpected churn and identify up-sell opportunities. The firm said it uses sales data, usage logs, support tickets, surveys and other data in those eforts.
