Wyre Rounds Up $5.8M For Cross Border Payments
San Francisco-based Wyre, which is applying blockchain to the cross-border payment market, said this week that it has raised $5.8M in a Series A funding. The funding came from Amphora Capital, along with 9fBank, Baofoo.com, Digital Currency Group, Draper Associates, and angels. The startup, led by Michael Dunworth, is applying blockchain--the technical back-end algorithms used in Bitcoin--to more easily facilitate business-to-business bank transfers across borders.
