Gengo Finds $12M For Translation Services
San Mateo-based Gengo, the operator of an online, human-powered language translation service, said today that it has raised $12M in a Series B investment round. The roudn was led by Intel Capital, and also included Aotmico, Iris Capital, Infocomm, NTT_IP, and STCV (Saudi Telecom). Gengo's online service lets users upload documents or type in text, and get crowd-sourced, human translated text back. The service prices translations by the word, charging more for business content and proofreading.
