Element Six Buys Group4 Labs
Santa Clara-based Element Six, a manufacturer of synthetic diamonds used for the semiconductor industry, said yesterday that it has acquired the assets and intellectual property of Group4 Labs. Group4 Labs is a developer of semiconductor wafer materials, focused on Gallium Nitride (GaN) on-diamond semiconductor technology for RF and high-power devices. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed, however, Element Six said it acquired the assets via an assignment for the benefit of creditors from Group4, a move which is usually made when selling a company out of bankruptcy.
