TutorGroup Adds Funding From Softbank For Language Learning
San Francisco-based TutorGroup, which operates an online learning site aimed at teaching English to students, said it has added SBI Group (formerly Softbank Finance Group) as a strategic investor. Size of the funding was not announced. TutorGroup said the funding is on top of the February, Series B funding round where the company raised $100M from Alibaba Group, Temasek, and Qiming Venture Partners. The company currently offers sites for teaching English to students in mainland China, Taiwan, as well as a platform teaching Mandarin Chinese to students in North and South America.
