Jaunt Finds $6.8M For Virtual Reality Technology
Palo Alto-based Jaunt said Thursday that it has raised $6.8M for its virtual reality technology, which it says provides an immersive, 360-degree video and audio experience. The company said the funding came from Redpoint Ventures, Peter Gotcher, Blake Krikorian, SV Angel and British Sky Broadcasting (Sky). Jaunt said that Redpoint's Tim Haley and Peter Gotcher, chairman of Dolby, as well as Sky's Stuart Murphy all join the company's board of directors. The funding comes a week after the giant acquisition of virtual reality hardware maker Oculus VR by Facebook, for $2 billion.
