Twitch Interactive has been acquired by
Amazon.com, in a deal worth $970M in cash. According to Amazon, Twitch had more than 55 million unique visitors in July, who watched more than 15 billion minutes of content. Twitch provides online videos of gamers sharing gaming tips, and other similar content. Twitch was launched in 2011, and was backed by Alsop Louie Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Draper Associates, as well as WestSummit Capital and Take-Two Interactive Software.
