Silicon Image Launches Qterics With $7M Funding
Sunnyvale-based Silicon Image> said late Thursday that it has spun out a new subsidiary, Qterics, focused on Internet-of-Everything services. As part of the new subsidiary, Qualcomm has invested $7M in Qterics, gaining a 7% ownership interest in the new company. Silicon Image said Qterics will focus on developing solutions and services for Internet-enabled consumer products and other devices.
