San Jose-based
EnVerv, which developed power line communications and smart grid ICs, has been acquired by
Semtech, in an asset deal. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced by the company. Semtech has hired on EnVerv's employees as part of the transaction. EnVerv was venture backed by Benchmark Capital, Cassiopeia Capital Partners, Cisco Corp., New Enterprise Associates, UMC, and Walden International, most recently announcing $15.4M in a Series C back in March of 2014. EnVerv had raised somewhere around $33.4M total in funding.
