Intel Buys Lantiq
Santa Clara-based semiconductor giant

said this morning that it has acquired
Lantiq
, a developer of broadband access and home networking technology. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Intel said the buy will accelerate the company's move into the smart gateway and intelligence access network markets. Lantiq was based in Munich.
