Massdrop, which operates an online service which hosts different communities of enthusiasts, said it has raised $40M in a Series B funding round. The funding came from August Capital, along with First Round Capital, Mayfield Fund, and Cowboy Ventures. The site featuers communities for users interested in all kinds of topics--ranging from quilting, to writing, stero systems, and more.
