Alibaba Opens Second Data Center In Silicon Valley

, the Chinese e-commerce giant, said Thursday that it has opened up a second, data center in Silicon Valley, as part of its
AliCloud
cloud computing business. Alibaba said the data center is the ninth facility for AliCloud, and is aimed at serving cloud and big data requirements for its customers on the West Coast. Alibaba's AliCloud offers up a wide range of cloud-based services, which parallel many of the services of Amazon Web Services.
