JetBlue Launches Venture Capital Arm In Silicon Valley
JetBlue has set up shop in Silicon Valley with a new, venture capital arm, called JetBlue Technology Ventures, the company said this morning, to invest in, incubate, and partner with early stage startups. The airline said its new wholly owned subsidiary will be based in Redwood City, as the GSVlabs campus. According to JetBlue, it is looking work with early stage startups at the intersection of technology, travel and hospitality via the new venture, and hopes to partner with incubators, venture capital firms, universities and other organizations inside and outside Silicon Valley. The new firm will be led by Bonny Simi, who is a JetBlue pilot and a graduate of Stanford GSB and its Engineering school.
