Luka Lands $4.42M For AI Bot Technology
San Francisco-based Luka, a developer of artificial intelligence software being used for smart personal assistance "bots", has raised $4.42M in a Series A funding. The funding was led by Sherpa Capital, and also included Y Combinator, Ludlow Ventures and Justin Waldron, the co-founder of Zynga. Luka develops an iOS app which lets users make dinner reservations, get news updates, play games, and more via its conversation-based interface. Scott Stanford of Sherpa Capital joins the company's board, with Brian Pham of Sherpa joins as an Observor. Luka was founded by Eugenia Kuyda and Philipp Dudchuk.
