Avast Acquires AVG For $1.3 Billion
Redwood City-based security software developer Avast Software says it is acquiring AVG, in a deal worth approximately $1.3 billion, the two said this morning. According to the two, Avast will pay $25.00 per share in cash for AVG. As part of the deal, Avast says it has received a financing commitment of $1.685 billion from Credit Suisse Securities, Jefferies and UBS Investment Bank to fund the deal.
