Trimble Buys AXIO-NET GmbH
Sunnyvale-based Trimble announced on Monday that it has acquired German company AXIO-NET GmbH, a provider of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) corrections and professional data services. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. AXIO-NET services Germany, the United Kingdom, and Benelux, and offers up corrected geolocation services to surveyors, farmers, and GIS professionals. Those services are required for high accuracy applications, due to both deliberately introduced inaccuracy in GPS and other GNSS systems, and inherent limitations in the accuracy of those services.
