Union Square Ventures, the New York venture investor which is also very active in Silicon Valley, said on Tuesday that
it is endorsing Hillary Clinton for President--the first time the firm has endorsed any Presidential candidate in the last four elections. The firm joins a growing list of Silicon Valley investors and executives who have turned to Clinton, due to the rhetoric from the Trump campaign. Most notably,
Charles River Ventures penned a Medium post in August saying that Donald trump's anti-immigration statements are "diametrically opposed to the core values of entrepreneurship." For its part, Union Squre was far less vehement in its blog post, only saying that "Of the two major party candidates, we believe that only Hillary Clinton has the temperament and experience to lead us at home and represent us abroad." A group of 140 Silicon Valley executives also
posted an open letter in July calling Trump a "disaster for innovation". However, not all of Silicon Valley is lining up against Trump; billionaire Peter Thiel
has expressed his enthusiastic support for Donald Trump.
